Longsilog
I remember once telling my Filipina grandma that I wasn’t hungry because I ate a burger and fries. She looked at me and said that I had to eat dinner anyway because it’s not a meal if there’s no rice.
This piece is a tribute to that very notion. Everyday should start out with a steaming scoop of rice (preferrably infused with fried garlic), runny eggs, and perfectly charred longanisa links. If you haven’t tried it yet, it may be what your life is missing.

in the kitchen…
As the Willy Wonka of plush foods, I have invented the un-poppable sunny side up yolk.
It’s always strange to me that fabric stores don’t feel the need to carry perfectly seasoned sherpa. But like any ambitious home chef, I’m not afraid to jump in and add the flavor myself.
Fried Garlic beads are my favorite way to add more depth to the pieces.
